I run Craft Ambrosia with my husband Simon and the help of some guest designers who you'll find out more
about below.
I discovered my love of art when I was small and began to create furniture and objet d'art for my dolls
house using old chocolate boxes and sellotape. I also used to take great delight in preparing bizarre letters for my
father to read when he was at sea, with concertina pop-outs other crazy things. I like to think I have moved on
a little since then!
After pursuing art classes with zeal at shool, I became a civil servant. Obviously, I realised my mistake
so went to university where I dabbled with all manner of things including printmaking, textiles and fine art
but eventually chose to specialise in Product Design. Degree in hand, I became a freelance designer (which
I still do in my spare time) but discovered rubber stamping along the way and never looked back.
I love cardmaking but my particular joy is altered art. Maybe going back to those letters I used
to make for my father, I enjoy creating unusual things just for the process involved as much as anything. Expect to
see a mellow version filtering into my classes soon.
Enough about me, what about my guest designers?

…is a very talented papercrafter who I’m pleased to have taking
the occasional CrafTea for me. She has created some beautiful projects and has a wealth of experience to share. She says:
‘I have always done some form of craft. From an early age at home knitting
and sewing with my mother, to discovering rubber stamping ten years ago and now I’m well and truly hooked!’
